What is a Troomi Kid’s Phone?
A kid’s phone from Troomi comes powered by Troomi’s KidSmart OS – an operating system that allows parents control over what their child can do, and see, on their phone. These phones are a good option for younger children as they come without internet access by default – thus no social media or games. But limited web browsing options & app selections may not make this an ideal option as your child grows.

How does Troomi work?
Troomi offers two kids’ phone options – the Samsung A14 and Samsung Xcover Pro. Both devices come with Troomi’s KidSmart OS. Similar to Bark & Gabb, Troomi uses its own network; however, Troomi is connected via AT&T.
Parents purchase the device at a fixed cost, as well as select a monthly service plan ranging from $20 to $30. More on this below.
Would Troomi work for my kid?
Troomi’s phones and plans are designed for kids of all ages – and the ability to add internet options at your discretion, and allow pre-selected apps at your discretion is a huge plus.
These phones come without an internet browser by default which makes Troomi a good option for younger children. As your child grows, you can add the KidSmart Safe Browser to allow for internet browsing of websites that have been approved by you. Must upgrade to the Discover plan for KidSmart apps & browsers.
Because only pre-approved apps can be used, Troomi may not work as your child grows into their teen years.
How much does Troomi cost?
Troomi has 2 different phones to choose from, and 3 different monthly plans. The Samsung A14 is $199.95 while the Samsung Xcover Pro is $399.95. Then you must also select your monthly plan.

All plans have parental controls, GPS tracking, unlimited talk & text, text monitoring and phone number safelisting. The DREAM plan adds group and image texting, and the DISCOVER plan adds the option of the KidSmart Safe Browser.

Internet | Its Up To You. Troomi phones have no internet browser by default, but one can be added if parents choose (must use the Discover plan). Websites are whitelisted through a parent app, and only those sites can be visited. Any site added to the whitelist (including adult content) could then be accessed on the phone. Parents - protect your passwords. |
App Store | No. The phone itself doesn't have an app store; however, parents are able to add apps to their child's phone through the parent portal. Troomi has over 50 pre-approved and pre-evaluated apps that can be added to the phone. |
