Android Phones For Kids
Are Andriod phones good for kids?
Android phones are better options for kids than Apple phones; however, parents should take the proper steps when setting up their child’s devices. Android devices come with some basic parental control settings if you set them up on your child’s profile – but for stronger parental controls, we would suggest a 3rd party parental control app. Android devices work well with parental control apps, and using an app like this will give parents much more control over their child’s devices.
Do Android phones have parental controls?
Parents are able to create ‘restricted profiles’ for new Android users. This allows parents to have more control over their child’s Android powered device.
Android devices use the Google app store, and users are able to set parental control limitations there, too. Read about those settings here.
Can I add parental controls to an Android phone?
Yes, you can add 3rd party parental control apps to your child’s Android device. Plus, Android phones play much nicer with these apps than Apple devices.
Some of the built-in controls, and free apps, can do a fine job helping parents manage their child’s Android. But for more comprehensive content filtering, website blocking, and social media & message monitoring – we recommend adding a stronger parental control tool.
Our kid already has an Android phone, what now?
There are many different phone manufacturers that are powered by Andriod – two prime examples are the Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy. If you already have one of these phones, it’s easy to just add it back to a family plan.
If you’re unable to get a phone specifically designed for kids, we strongly recommend adding another layer of parental controls. We recommend the Bark Parental Controls app as the best option for Android devices..
